The Genesee-Finger Lakes Technology Related Assistance for Individuals with Disabilities (TRAID) is an excellent resource for hands-on experience with and information about all types of equipment and assistive technology.
One-on-One Consultations: The TRAID staff is proficient with many technologies and offers one-on-one consultations for people with disabilities and professionals upon request. While most consultations are performed at the TRAID office, in-home consultations may be arranged according to need and as staff resources permit.
Information/Demonstration: TRAID has a number of information technologies on display at the RCIL office and welcomes people with disabilities and professionals to audition them, or to use them when they have been unsuccessful in acquiring such technologies. TRAID often bring its smaller technologies to fairs, trainings, and other outreach activities in the community; and periodically invites vendors of both new and lesser-known technologies on-site to provide learning opportunities for our staff and the community. TRAID regularly disseminates information on new assistive and information technologies to its network of employers, educational entities, and community groups.
