The Regional Center for Independent Living provides accommodations for our consumers who are deaf or hard of hearing. RCIL provides resources and community support services so that those who are deaf have equal access to the services RCIL provides.
RCIL is a not-for-profit, non-residential organization that provides services, advocacy and outreach to people with disabilities and seniors. RCIL takes a peer-based approach to assist you with achieving your goals of Independent Living. We are an organization comprised of people with disabilities for people with disabilities. Our independent living services and social services are designed to give you, the consumer, more freedom and control concerning your own lives.
RCIL operates services through a system that responds to individual’s needs and requests in five core areas:
- Information and referral
- Peer counseling
- Independent living skills training
- Individual and systems advocacy
- Nursing home transition and diversion
